Shardul Dubey

President

With the aim of helping the society through humanitarian aviation, Shardul Dubey founded Aviation Without Borders Canada (Aviation Sans Frontières Canada) in 2017. His involvement with the field of aviation started at a young age as a member of the Royal Canadian Air Cadets. Shardul has experience working as an Aircraft Stress Engineer in the civilian industry and holds both Glider Pilot and Private Pilot licenses.

Currently employed as an Aerospace Engineering Officer with the Royal Canadian Air Force (serving the Department of National Defense), Shardul holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from Concordia University as well as a Master of Business Administration degree and an additional Master of Science in Management and Leadership degree from Western Governors University.

Shardul is a recipient of the Royal Canadian Legion Medal of Excellence, Lord Strathcona Medal of Exemplary Performance, Royal Canadian Air Cadets Service Medal and the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Gold Award. He has previous volunteer experience with Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, CLSC, Pointe-Claire Public Library, etc. Shardul continues to be heavily involved in the field of aerospace and aviation, while serving as the President of ASF Canada since its conception.

Owen McClung-Sitnam

Vice-President

Owen McClung-Sitnam is a helicopter captain who holds a commercial and airline transport pilot license in Canada and the USA. Accumulating over 3,000 flying hours, primarily fighting forest fires across Canada and flying air ambulance missions up and down British-Columbia’s coast. His experience instilled in him a passion for the power of community support through aviation. Owen also featured in the Top 40 under 40 for Helicopters magazine in their 2021 edition.

Owen studied sustainability in the past and is finishing his Master of Business Administration degree at Royal Roads University. He is also the founding director of Helicopters Without Border. Before embarking into ASF and HWB, Owen headed Business Development for a charter company in Alberta.

Sai Sameer Ponangi

Vice-President

Sameer Ponangi grew up in a family with strong sense of social responsibility. Philanthropic family as is, their service and contributions involved field work towards tribal welfare, girl child welfare, and environmental awareness across India, needless to say they are inculcated in him. He co-founded the organization Animal Rehabilitation and Protection Front in the year 2011 for the welfare of animals. The organization received several renown awards over the last decade including the "Best Green Group that Makes a Difference." in 2012, the youngest organization to receive this award.

Sameer is a leader in Program Planning, Logistics Management and Risk Management. He has over 10 years of experience managing a nonprofit organization and over 5 years of experience in medical supplies handling. Sameer has a Master's Degree in Industrial Management with specialization in Project Management and Supply Chain Management. He intends to use his expertise and experience towards the betterment of humanitarian services.
